gravitywelltheater Honestly, I think Aaron and Jim are dancing around the bigger issue for theaters. Studios have no incentive to release a film that cost $100-150m to make to a theater system that will only pay them $20M in revenue. If the model is the studios have to all release slates of blockbuster (“budget buster”) films that no one pays to see and then run it as “also ran” on their respective streaming services, that’s not a win for studios. The word “Exclusive” gets people to sign up, not “ Favorite track: Marvel Us Disney - Why are paparazzi staking out the “Spider-Man 3” set.
